Being a call center rep is tough. Being a dad is tough. But being a call center dad in the Philippines? That’s a whole new level. Hey! fellow dads! Let’s talk about the real struggle: being a call center rep in the Philippines by night and a superhero dad by day (well, more like… morning-ish). They call us BPO heroes, but the real battle happens at home.
We all know the night shift life. Manila sleeps while we’re glued to our headsets, dealing with cranky customers, tech glitches that make you wanna scream, and those monthly targets that seem to have a life of their own. It’s enough to make your head spin. But hey, the extra pesos mean better food on the table, maybe even those new shoes for the little ones. So we grind, knowing the sacrifices are worth it.
The toughest part? Missing out on all the cute stuff. Bedtime stories become stolen kisses on sweaty foreheads (sorry, night shift life!), school plays turn into listening to reports on our lunch break. The guilt can be a real buzzkill, but then you see your kid beaming with pride, telling everyone about their “call center dad,” and it makes it all a little easier to swallow.
We may not be clocking in quality time like some dads, but we make it work. We’re the kings of the breakfast scramble on weekends, the champions of ironing school uniforms during breaks (yes, I work at home *wink*), and the taking them to school after shift. These little wins are our sunshine – proof that even with a headset permanently attached to our ears, we’re still there for our little ones.
Look, the world might see us as robots taking calls, but we’re dads. We dream of promotions, sure, but mostly we dream of those school events, school projects, and the epic father-daughter dance that’s coming up way too fast. We’re the guys holding down the fort while the rest of the city sleeps. This is our story, and it’s a story of balancing crazy schedules, missing bedtime stories, and showering our families with love, one nightime shift at a time. So to all my fellow call center dads out there, RESPECT! We may be sleep-deprived, but hey, at least we’re making it work. Now, gotta go, got a Karen on line three… cue dramatic headset sigh
