Top Motorcycle Accessories Every Commuting Dad Should Have

October 28, 2025 / Filed Under: motorcycles

motorcycle accessories for dads

As a dad who rides to work every day, my motorcycle isn’t just a vehicle — it’s my daily companion. Rain or shine, traffic or not, it gets me where I need to be. Pero alam natin mga tatay — it’s not just about having a bike; it’s about riding smart and safe.

Over time, I’ve learned that a few good accessories can make the daily ride smoother, safer, and even more enjoyable. So here’s my list of must-have motorcycle accessories for commuting dads — tested and proven by experience.

1. A Reliable Helmet (Always the Priority)

Never skimp on your helmet. Look for DOT or ECE-certified ones. I personally recommend brands like LS2, HNJ, or EVO — comfortable, stylish, and most importantly, safe.
Your helmet is your best investment, especially when your family’s waiting for you at home.

✅ Pro tip: Get one with good ventilation and a clear visor for night rides.

2. Anti-Fog Riding Glasses or Goggles

If you ride early morning or late evening, fog can be your enemy. A good pair of anti-fog glasses helps you stay focused on the road, especially during those ulanan nights.

✅ Best for: Dads who ride through unpredictable weather (which is basically all of us).

3. Quality Riding Gloves

A solid pair of gloves can save your hands from blisters, burns, and cold wind. Go for ones with grip pads and knuckle protection. They make a big difference in long rides — and yes, they look cool too.

✅ Pro tip: Try Komine or Scoyco — affordable and durable.

4. Waterproof Bag or Tail Box

Every dad needs to carry something — office stuff, lunch, raincoat, or maybe your kid’s forgotten notebook. A tail box or waterproof sling bag keeps your things safe from the rain and helps you ride hands-free.

✅ My pick: GIVI tail boxes are sturdy and worth every peso.

5. Foldable Rain Gear

You know how it is — one minute it’s sunny, the next it’s ulan na naman. A lightweight raincoat or poncho fits easily under your seat and saves the day (literally).

✅ Pro tip: Keep an extra pair of socks in your bag. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself later.

6. USB Charger / Phone Mount

For dads who use Waze or Spotify during commutes, a USB charger and sturdy phone mount are essential. Just make sure to buy waterproof ones.

✅ Pro tip: Always unplug the charger when parked — para iwas drain ng battery

7. Seat Cover with Cushion

Long rides + traffic = sore back. A cushioned or air-flow seat cover helps with comfort, especially on hot afternoons. It also keeps your seat from cracking or fading.

✅ Best for: Dads with long daily commutes.

My Take

Motorcycling as a dad isn’t just about getting from point A to B — it’s about doing it safely and smartly.
Every motorcycle accessories for dads listed here may seem small, but combined, they make a huge difference in your daily ride.

At the end of the day, every ride home safe means more time with your kids, more stories to tell, and less stress from the road.

So if you’re a commuting dad like me — gear up wisely. Because a little preparation goes a long way.
